Aqualife
Through the Port of Halifax we now offer the service of delivering live seafood, specifically shellfish, to Central Europe. Aqualife Logistics has partnered with Maersk Line to be the carrier for this new business opportunity.
This new technology consists of specialized refrigerated containers for product transport and a handling process which includes transloading. When using this system CO2 emissions are reduced to 3 percent, or 30 times less than air freight.
Your "Cool" Port
The Port of Halifax specializes in handling temperature-controlled cargo. Updated infrastructure at the Port of Halifax includes an impressive 1,000 reefer plugs and expanded terminal power.
The Port of Halifax is aligned with CN who is well positioned to support reefer growth. CN offers daily refrigerated rail service from Halifax to major markets in North America. To efficiently maintain their commitment, CN has invested in a brand new fleets of gen-sets.
North Atlantic Gateway Express LCL
The Port of Halifax has developed a less-than-containerload (LCL) service to accommodate smaller exporters around Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada who want to get product to Europe. This weekly LCL service increases opportunities for local exporters to more efficiently and cost effectively reach the European Market.
